About
A person-centred counsellor based in Manchester, working with individual adults in person, online and by telephone.
my story
I always knew, from a young age, that I felt drawn to being a counsellor. It wasn't solely my own experiences that shaped this path. Hearing people confide in me, both personally and professionally, about their challenges, and seeing them grapple with burdens they often struggled to articulate or express, ignited a deep sense of empathy within me. This experience awakened a genuine desire to offer support and make a meaningful difference in their lives. That passion, that pull towards supporting others has aways been part of who I am. It grew into a clear sense of purpose, a drive that eventually led me here.
Before training, I spent years in a corporate setting, where I naturally gravitated toward supporting the people around me. Colleagues who were struggling with life outside work, who were showing up carrying things nobody could see. I was good at it. But my values and my environment were pulling in opposite directions, and eventually something had to give.
After being made redundant, I went on to work in a school setting, getting closer to the kind of work that actually mattered to me. I then went on to work for the mental health charity Mind, which enhanced my experience and passion whilst training and qualifying as a counsellor, finally arriving at the place I’d been heading all along.

Lived Experience
I’m also neurodivergent myself so I understand, not just professionally but personally, what it means to navigate a world that wasn’t always designed with you in mind. I have a broad depth of experience around the internalised feelings that become part of who you are when navigating a commonly neurotypical space. This includes the feelings of shame, self-doubt, inadequacy, guilt and the pressure of not feeling good enough.
My lived experience shapes everything about how I work and informs my empathic understanding of the experiences my clients bring to our sessions.
“I now see how owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.”
Brené Brown
For me, that’s not just a quote. It’s something I’ve lived.
